In Lord’s in 2005 against Australia ‘KP’ became only the eighth England player to score a half-century in both innings of a debut Test.
Kapes also hit 7 sixes in an innings in the fifth Ashes Test in the Oval in 2005, breaking Ian Botham`s record set back in 1981 when he hit 6 sixes at Old Trafford. He finished the series as the leading run-scorer with 473 at an average of 52.55.
In 2005, Pietersen became the fastest man to 500 runs in one-day international history.
